Nut Milk
Ingredients:
- 100g nuts (hazelnut, cashews or almonds work well)
- pinch salt
- vanilla essence to taste (optional)
Directions:
- soak the nuts in water overnight
- rinse and put in blender
- add salt and vanilla essence
- slowly add 1 pint of water, starting the blender once the nuts are covered
- strain through a cheesecloth or muslin bag
- optional: put the pulp back to the blender and add 1/2 pint of water (makes slightly thinner milk)
Notes:
The pulp can be either dried (make sure you dry it well, or it will get mouldy) or refrigerated for later use.
