Burnt Sugar Almonds (Gebrannte Mandeln)
Yields: 350g
Ingredients:
- 250ml water
- 200g sugar
- 1tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 200g almonds
Directions:
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a non stick frying pan.
- Add the water and vanilla extract, stir, turn on the hob and bring to boil.
- Add the almonds and stir continuously until all liquid has evaporated.
- Turn the hob down to medium heat.
- Either grease a baking tray, or better, use a non-stick reusable baking parchment.
- Spread the almonds onto the tray and separate them using a couple of forks.
