Last Saturday I managed to escape the seeding and weeding at the CropShare farm day and went to the first Eastern Region Gathering of CSAs held at the Oak Tree Low Carbon farm  just outside Ipswich. Exciting!

I got to the farm slightly late due to bus delays, but I managed to arrive just in time for the shared lunch – yay!

After lunch each CSA had a chance to give an overview of the history and model of their group, and to describe any difficulties they were facing. Interestingly they vary considerably in land size, membership model and any problems they were facing.

Norwich Farm Share have also written a nice blog post about the meeting, plus you can listen to a piece about the meeting by BBC Suffolk’s Jon Wright below:

Then we had a tour of Oak Tree Farm…

Thanks to Oak Tree Farm for hosting us- looking forward to the CSA conference in Stroud in December!
